Illuminated Letters
An illuminated letter was usually the first letter of a page or paragraph. It was always enlarged and in color with gold applied in areas. The images used to enhance the letters include animals, plants, and mythological creatures. We work with different interpretations. Student may use the media of their choice.
Letter Series
During fifteen days we create different graphics of a chosen letter in compelling ways. All letters are be totally different still keeping one common aspect to all.
Hand Lettering
Part of learning typography, happens by understanding how letters work as a group, in a word, in a sentence, in a paragraph and a page. We work on basic lettering concepts, to get to something very unique.
