Freelance award winning illustrative designer
With over 30 years experience, Steve Simpson’s whimsical approach to his work has earned him international acclaim for his illustration, typography and packaging design. Steve has regularly had work exhibited in London, LA & New York along with many publications across the world. Steve is originally from the UK with a background in animation and comics but has made Ireland his home and Illustration his passion for the last 20 plus years.
Steve was a main stage speaker at the 2012 OFFSET creative conference in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre, Dublin and has won numerous international awards inc. a gold & silver at the AOI’s Images; Best of British Illustration Awards and Gold at both the IDI and ICAD awards in 2013.
Steve also has a cat named Buddy but they’re not very close…
Steve held a workshop in Bordeaux on april 2014. During his workshop, students designed (using hand-drawn lettering) and illustration a label (front, back and neck label) for a bottle of wine based on a theme given. they also created an illustrated barcode.
